Adoption process for kittens and cats

It is very easy to adopt a kitten. All you need to do is -

  • read our adoption criteria below
  • complete our application form
  • agree a time to have your homecheck 
  • pay your non-refundable reservation fee of £75 (deductable from your adoption fee) subject to a successful homecheck
  • pay the remainder of your adoption fee of  when your kitten/cat leaves Romania after their preparation
  • sign your adoption contract 
  • meet your kitten/cat which will either be transported to your home or a designated meeting point.

Criteria for adopting a kitten or a cat

You must read the following conditons before applying for one of our kittens/cats.  If you do not agree to the terms then please do not submit an application to us. You must - 

  • live in mainland UK
  • be 21 years of age or over
  • have a rescue back-up contact if you’re 60 years of age or over to ensure the cat is looked after if you are no long able to do so yourself
  • live away from busy roads, railway lines or built-up areas
  • keep the kitten/cat inside for at least 4 weeks, preferably longer, while they settle into their new home and get used to their surroundings
  • not let the kitten/cat be alone for more than 8 hours per day, especially during the settling in period
  • either have a cat flap, permanently open window or an outdoor cat house that the cat can access at all times
  • have an indoor litter tray available to the kitten/cat
  • only apply if any existing dogs have lived with cats before
  • only apply if any existing cats are used to living with other cats, particularly new kittens later in life
  • only apply if everyone in the home agrees to the adoption of the kitten/cat
  • not have children under 5 years old
  • have permission from your landlord to keep pets if you live in rented accommodation
  • agree to have a homecheck as part of the application process
  • agree to take the kitten/cat with no previous introductions, as the kitten/cat will travel direct to you from Romania
  • allow your kitten/cat to settle in, this can take weeks sometimes months depending on the kitten/cat
  • agree to work through any issues that arise with advice and guidance
